Future Trojan S.T.E.P. (Starting the Educational Path) is a three-week summer enrichment program for students going to 1^st through 3^rd grade. This program accepts 50 students and consists of a culturally relevant reading component in the morning and a Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics (STEM) afternoon component. This interactive summer program provides an opportunity for students to continue their academic pursuits throughout the summer. The program has two primary objectives. First, the program will provide pre-service and in-service teachers the opportunity to implement and develop their culturally relevant pedagogical skills. The second objective is to support the neighboring school district with their standards of learning reading test passage rates.
